Pre care tips prior to Skin needling

 

-Avoid accutane in the six months prior to beginning your treatment sessions.

 

-Can't be sunburnt.
 

-Do not use active ingredients that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, vitamin A 2 days prior to your treatment.
 

-Do not take anti-inflammatory medications 3 days prior to your session. 
 

-If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment.

 

-Avoid blood thinning agents for one week prior because bruising is a common side effect of microneedling.

 

-If you a fitzpatrick 4 or above we recommend prepping your skin with tyrosinase inhibitors.

Post care instructions

​

-Do not pick at skin.

 

-Avoid tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks.

 

-After 24 hours, always use sunblock SPF and wear a hat if you’re outside, apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside, and again, immediately before, after that reapply every 2 hours

 

-A sunburn-like effect is normal.

 

-Your skin may feel tight, dry or sensitive to touch.

 

-Some redness may also be present and in some cases, patients may experience slight bruising that can last for 5-7 days.

 

-Treat skin like a open wound, have a clean pillow and towel to use that night.

 

-Wash the area gently with warm water, carefully pat dry.

 

-No Makeup

 

-No Swimming/ Saunas/ heavy exercising/ makeup for 48 hours.

 

-Do not use Active ingredients

 

-Ingredients such at Hyaluronic Acid help heal the skin as well as hydrating it.

 

-Gentle cleansing​​
