IPL Skin Correction
IPL Skin Correction | Mudgee NSW
The treatment that targets what your eye can see.
Pigmentation. Redness. Broken capillaries. The stuff that shows up in photos and won't budge with skincare alone. IPL skin correction uses intense pulsed light to target those concerns at the source. The light is absorbed by pigment and redness in your skin, gently breaking them down while triggering your skin's natural repair response.
As your skin heals, it produces fresh collagen and elastin, sheds dull damaged layers and reveals a brighter, more even complexion underneath.
The result? Clearer, calmer, more even skin. And this is the one we're getting our most impressive results with, especially for pigmentation, rosacea and broken capillaries.
-
IPL SKIN REJUVENATION
One of the most effective ways to improve skin texture, increase hydration to the skin and improve the overall appearance of your skin in with IPL skin rejuvenation sometimes called photo facial.
-
VASCULAR TREATMENT
We've had successful results with telangiectasia, erythosis, rosacea, poikiloderma and broken capillaries which is commonly found the nose, cheek, chin and décolletage area.
-
ACNE THERAPY
The specific IPL acne filter destroys the most common bacteria that can cause acne - without medications, downtime and very minimal discomfort. It's effective on moderate inflammatory acne.
-
PIGMENTATION REDUCTION
IPL is an effective technology to reduce or completely remove pigmentation, sunspots and freckles on the face and body. With high energy pulses it breaks down the pigment which then flakes off or dissolves in the blood stream to fade its appearance.
IPL Skin Correction Treatments
What to expect at your IPL skin correction appointment:
We start with a double cleanse and pop protective eyewear on you, then apply a cooling gel to the treatment area. Your therapist glides the IPL handpiece across your skin in sections, delivering quick pulses of light. Most clients describe it as a warm flick, like a tiny rubber band snap. Quick, completely manageable and over before you know it.
Straight after, your skin may look a little flushed, like you've been out in the sun. Any pigmentation being treated often darkens first, that's the treatment working. Those spots rise to the surface and flake away over the following days, revealing fresher, more even skin underneath.
Your treatment plan depends on what we're targeting. Pigmentation is treated every 4 weeks over a course of 6 to 12 sessions. Broken capillaries are treated every 7 to 10 days until they disappear. Acne is treated every 2 to 4 weeks depending on severity. Your therapist will map out exactly what your skin needs at your appointment.

It depends on what we're treating and how your skin responds. Some concerns like a single sun spot may need less, deeper pigmentation or redness may need more. As a guide:
Fine lines, wrinkles and skin rejuvenation: 4 to 8 treatments, 4 weeks apart
Pigmentation: 4 to 10 treatments, every 3 to 4 weeks
Active acne and acne scarring: 3 to 9 treatments, 4 weeks apart
Broken capillaries: 2 to 6 treatments every 7 -10 days, or until they've disappearedWe'll give you an honest plan at your appointment, no guesswork.
-
It's quicker and easier than you're expecting. Most clients describe each pulse as a warm flick against the skin. No numbing needed, and your therapist adjusts the settings to suit your skin and comfort level.
-
A little, depending on what we're treating.
With pigmentation, the pigment darkens over a few days and you may get micro crusting on the area. That's the treatment working. Once the crusting appears, you can gently exfoliate it away. And don't stress if you don't crust every time, not everyone does.
With broken capillaries, you may notice some immediate swelling, but it settles within a few hours.
The non-negotiable with any light based treatment is SPF, before and after. Sunburnt or sun-exposed skin plus IPL is a recipe for damage, and in some cases burns. Protect your skin and your results will thank you.
-
You'll notice pigmentation darkening within days, then flaking away to reveal brighter skin within a week or two. Redness and capillaries often improve within days of treatment. Collagen results build over the following weeks and keep improving with each session.
-
We're careful with IPL on tanned or recently sun-exposed skin, it needs to be treated on your natural skin tone for safe, effective results. That's why autumn and winter are prime IPL season in Mudgee. If you've been in the sun, chat with us about timing.
-
IPL suits many skin types, but not all. IPL works best on lighter to medium skin tones (up to a Fitzpatrick skin type 4, with type 5 assessed case by case). Because the light targets pigment, deeper skin tones carry a higher risk of the treatment affecting the surrounding skin, and we'll never put your skin at risk for a result.
Medications and sun exposure matter too, which is why we assess your skin properly before we treat. If IPL isn't right for you, we'll steer you toward the treatment that is.
